
Japan’s economy was booming in the late 1980s, and this spurred its automakers to develop some wild cars to cater to citizens flushed with cash. Cars like the R32 Nissan Skyline GT-R and the original Acura NSX (sold globally as a Honda) were born in this era and went on to become icons, alongside many other models. Some, like the Toyota Corolla and the Honda Accord are going nowhere, here to stay, seemingly forever.
