Believe it or not, in 2026, the 12-passenger van is still alive and well. Its design isn’t as bold and masculine as the many rugged pickup trucks on the road, nor as elegant as the SUVs commonly seen on the daily commute. However, its function-over-form, straightforward design leaves almost no job off the table, but a 12-passenger van like the Ford Transit may not be for everyone. Parking isn’t for the unadventurous, fuel economy isn’t the main goal, and fitting one comfortably in many garages can be a hard sell. But for some, they’re just what the doctor ordered – a safe, reliable means of transportation for the family, or a small group of people, that still offers an ample amount of cargo space and utility.
