When high-level premium SUV designers receive a brief from their OEM bosses, they may often be told to chase performance, and add all the latest technology, while tuning the chassis to within an inch of its life. These days, it seems that digital minimalism, aggressive driving modes, or the largest touchscreens are the fundamentals, as those bosses try to claw market share and keep up with the rest.
