Audi has given the 2026 A6 TFSI–the gasoline model, not the all-electric A6 e-tron–significant mid-model-year hardware and software updates less than a year after its debut as an all-new model for 2026MY.
Audi says the updates improve the driving and ownership experience, closely mirroring the new driver and customer-centric features recently announced for the 2026 A5 and Q5 gas models and the 2027 A6 e-tron and Q6 e-tron EVs.
Highlights include a new design for the Audi MMI (Multi Media Interface), an updated multifunction steering wheel, new Audi drive select functionality, expanded driver assistance features, upgraded voice control capabilities, and extended connectivity. On top of that, customers also have access to new optional features such as contoured seats and integrated dashcam.
New Digital Design Language Helps Simplify The Infotainment System

The main update is the all-new digital design language for the three displays of the Audi Digital Stage features, which are said to create a more consistent and familiar appearance throughout the vehicle and myAudi app interfaces. The more modern look integrates a new 3D model of the vehicle shown across the different displays in detail, down to the vehicle’s specific color.
The center MMI touch display now has fewer lists and more graphical representations to further reduce distractions by enabling users to recognize the functions more quickly. Users can also distinguish more easily between monochrome embedded Audi apps, which now feature white backgrounds, and third-party apps, which are displayed in color.
Furthermore, the voice-activated Audi digital assistant displays new animations, while a clock display is now docked in the upper left of the MMI touch display.
Audi Virtual Cockpit And Passenger Display Also Improved
Audi
As for the Audi virtual cockpit display, it now features reduced icons and a clearer structure for simplified operation. It also gets functional improvements including three unique views–classic round instrument view, navigation view with maps and integrated driver assistance view–that the driver can toggle through via a steering wheel-mounted “View” button.
Besides the new Audi design structure, the 2026 A6 TFSI’s infotainment system integrates smartphone interface functions more deeply, allowing users to mirror their smartphone’s navigation, media, and telephone functions directly into the Audi virtual cockpit, as well as in the MMI touch display.
As before, the A6 is offered with an available front passenger display, which has also received the new design language and functional improvements. Those include support for an independent Bluetooth headset that will play audio content for the passenger while gaming, playing videos or browsing internet content. At the same time, the driver can listen to any audio source via the vehicle’s sound system–except for what the passenger listens to in the headphones.
Touch-Sensitive Buttons Replaced By Scroll Wheel, Built-In Dashcam Now Available

Moving on to hardware upgrades, the main one is the updated multifunction steering wheel on all 2026 A6 TFSI models. More specifically, the scroll wheel returns, replacing the previous touch-sensitive interface. All trims also get remote engine start as part of the Audi Connect Care package.
An all-new Audi high-resolution dashcam system is offered on the 2026 A6 Premium Plus trim (optional on Premium trim). Integrated directly into the base of the interior rearview mirror, the camera records high-resolution 4K videos of action captured in front of the vehicle.
Audi claims that it can produce detailed recordings even in challenging lighting conditions, thanks to High Dynamic Range (HDR) technology and an especially light sensitive sensor. All data and recordings are only saved locally on an owner-supplied removable SD card. The Premium Plus trim also gets Bang & Olufsen front headrest speakers.
Trim-Specific Updates

The Prestige trim adds the newly available Audi drive select assistant, which automatically adjusts the drive select mode to suit the current driving situation and the driver’s individual driving style. This ensures that ride quality and responsiveness are continuously optimized throughout a journey.
Other new standard features on the Prestige trim include Park assist pro with remote functionality, Rear emergency brake assist, and the Top view camera system with 3D view. An optional Luxury package adds Nappa/Pearl Nappa leather individual contour front seats with massage function, and passenger seat memory.
The updated 2026 A6 Sedan will be available as U.S. dealers from the second quarter of 2026 with the same starting MSRP of $64,100.
