While most American cars are only gaining in size and mass, some brands still hold down the fort by offering compact models. Despite the majority of Americans believing trucks and SUVs are too large now, their sizes continue to increase. Mini is an unusual exception to this unspoken rule. It was originally a British brand that feels more at home on the streets of London than it does on the United States’ wide-open highways. Now, it’s owned by the BMW group with headquarters in Munich, Germany, but that’s beside the point.
