Classic Recreations, known for its officially licensed Shelby continuation cars, abruptly closed its doors earlier in the year as it declared bankruptcy. The closure, according to Velocity Restorations, left “unfinished builds and customers without support.” It’s a big blow to this part of the industry, but Velocity Restorations has stepped in and acquired the Classic Recreation assets. On top of that, it’s secured a new licensing agreement with Carroll Shelby Licensing, Inc. to continue production of the legendary classic Shelby GT500 and Shelby Cobra models.
