Trust in Manthey
When it comes to performance, most brands like Porsche have their own internal capabilities; they are, after all, a sports car company. However, there are exceptions. Manthey Racing was born in the confines of the racetrack, becoming a legendary team that started tinkering with Porsches back in 1996.
It eventually led to a strong enough partnership with Porsche that the mother company now owns a 51% stake in Manthey, which is responsible for optimizing the performance of Porsche’s GT models. In fact, there have already been several Manthey 911s before, including the 991.2, 992-generation GT3 RS, 991-generation GT2 RS, and even a 718 Cayman GT4 RS. A new kit has just been announced with an eye towards the (992.2) GT3.

A Step Further
Porsche’s Weissach Package is the usual performance upgrade found on the majority of the automaker’s models, but the Manthey kit (in this iteration) kicks things up a notch by focusing solely on the 911 GT3. This focus centered on an enhancement kit that improved aerodynamics, suspension, and braking components.
The increased downforce allows for faster cornering speeds, with the suspension tuned more for track use, and the brakes are beefed up to withstand the rigors of race-track conditions.

It’s all About the Flow
According to Porsche, the entire underbody has been transformed into a continuous aerodynamic element, with wider underbody turning vanes and a luggage compartment floor cover.
At the front, the lip has been extended by 0.47 inches, with special front diffuser fins under the front underbody, increasing downforce at the front axle. The wing with swan-neck mounts is wider and now features a Gurney flap. The end plates have been enlarged and are visibly curved inwards to achieve optimal airflow. The rear diffuser, featuring longer fins, increases downforce without increasing drag.
Lastly, the rear wheels receive carbon-fiber wheel covers (aerodiscs) to further reduce drag.

Track Handling
No serious performance kit can claim any gains without a serious suspension package, and the Manthey kit is no different. The 911 GT3 Manthey Kit comes with a four-way adjustable coilover suspension set that can be properly adjusted for track use.
Main highlights of this suspension package include rebound and compression adjustments without the need for tools, and a 10% increase in the front axle spring rate that improves handling on the limit and meets the higher downforce requirements. All of this combines for stability in handling, especially over kerbs.
Further weight reduction was done through the optional 20 or 21-inch rims, which are 6 kilograms lighter than the standard wheels. Braided steel brake lines are included as standard in the kit. This guarantees better pressure and brake control. As an option, special racing brake pads for the Porsche Ceramic Composite Brake (PCCB) are also available.

Individuality
The kit has also been optimized for a touch of individuality in its looks. It comes with carbon door sill trims with illuminated Manthey lettering, LED door projectors with white Manthey lettering, and the option to apply Manthey lettering to the doors.
Those carbon aerodiscs come in a range of colors, and the tow straps on the front and rear come in red, black, or yellow.
So what of the performance then? The current Manthey Kit 911 GT3 lapped the famed Nürburgring Nordschleife circuit in 6:52.981 minutes, 2.76 seconds faster than its predecessor.
