Mercedes-Benz has been a key player in the luxury vehicle arena for well over a century, the German brand delivering historic models like the S-Class sedan and G-Class SUV, as well as high-end luxury supercars like the McLaren SLR and SLS. However, it owns another brand that it elevates above its own reputation when it comes to ultra-luxury vehicles. Maybach built a range of high-end luxury cars pre-World War II, before eventually being purchased by Mercedes-Benz after it went defunct in 1960.
