The Corvette. You can’t really get around the sheer amount of presence it has in American automotive history. Its origins stretch back to 1953, when Chevy first introduced the model. However, the initial ‘Vette was, nearly, a failure. It wasn’t until a V8 was offered for use within the model that the Corvette would finally win over the hearts of millions, and it hasn’t looked back since. Motoring, and the US as we know it, might not have been the same without the Corvette’s wide-reaching cultural influence.
