The Ramcharger nameplate has lain dormant since 2001, when a short-lived third generation of Dodge Ramcharger ended production at the Saltillo, Mexico production facility. Ram itself is no longer a Dodge nameplate, having been spun off as a standalone automaker in 2009, so the Ramcharger, if it ever returned, was never likely to be a Dodge again. But Ram gave us hope of the name returning in recent times, first when it showcased an automated EV charging bot called the Ram Charger for the first electric Ram truck concept, and then again a few years later when it showcased an EREV pickup that was to be called the Ram 1500 Ramcharger.
