Cars and trucks are machines made of parts and components that eventually wear down and fail. Replacing an EV battery can cost thousands, just like swapping out the engine in a combustion-powered vehicle. Given enough time and usage, anything can fail. Of course, that’s stretching the timeline out over the extremely long term. Don’t worry, though. While there are always nuances and outliers, the vast majority of today’s drivers aren’t changing an engine or EV battery during the lifespan of a vehicle.
