Renault has just set a new record for EV efficiency, but it’s not a record we had even conceived of. It’s not for covering the most distance in a given time, it’s not for eking out the most range from every kilowatt-hour of charge. Really, this is a record that is shockingly relevant to real-world everyday driving, even if the car that set it isn’t. Renault wanted to cover 600 miles in under 10 hours without needing to charge.
