Programme Solitaire’s Next Creation
Programme Solitaire is Bugatti’s answer to modern coachbuilding. It’s not about trim levels or ticking boxes on a configurator. Instead, each car is built for a single owner, with no compromises and no production shortcuts.
The first result was Brouillard, a one-off coupe that launched last year. Built on Bugatti’s current hypercar platform, it stood out for its long-tail design, custom bodywork, and the familiar quad-turbo W16 under the hood.
Soon after Brouillard, rumors surfaced, hinting at a second Programme Solitaire car. Bugatti kept quiet at first, but now the company has confirmed it: the next Solitaire project is finished and set for its public debut next week.
The Teaser Said Enough
Bugatti’s announcement leans on heritage buzzwords and avoids specifics. Phrases like “singularly signature creative expression” and “automotive artistry” fill the release, but hard facts are missing.
Still, a few things are made clear. This is a Programme Solitaire creation. It is “ultra-exclusive.” And most importantly, it is described as a “one-of-one tribute to an icon of Bugatti’s inimitable story.”
That choice of words isn’t accidental. Factoring in an earlier report of a $20-million one-off inspired by a past model, it points to what’s been rumored for months: a custom-built Veyron tribute.
The teaser image and short video confirm the familiar W16 engine, just like Brouillard. Expect around 1,600 horsepower, if the hints are accurate.

We Think We Know What It Is
Bugatti hasn’t officially called its upcoming release a Veyron tribute, but the French marque isn’t denying it either. The Veyron changed the hypercar game when it launched in the mid-2000s, with 1,001 horsepower, a quad-turbo W16, and a top speed over 250 mph. It set the stage for the Chiron and everything that came after.
Recently, Bugatti has been quietly revisiting the Veyron story in official posts and throwbacks. With the teaser’s focus on “inimitable story,” a Veyron tribute makes sense. A modern take, built with today’s design and Programme Solitaire’s approach, would be both nostalgic and smart for the brand.
We won’t have to guess much longer. Bugatti will reveal the car online on January 22 at 10:00 AM ET.
