The Development Authority of Fulton County (Develop Fulton) approved more than $144 million in bond financing for a 290-unit development at 850 West End Ave. SW. The Atlanta Business Journal reports the development would accommodate about 800 residents, with a focus on students at historically Black colleges.
Morehouse and Spelman selected a real estate team to deliver the new housing, which is set to rise across the street from Morehouse’s B.T. Harvey Stadium. The partners include Radnor Property Group and Madrone Community Development Foundation.
Enrollment has grown by approximately 25% over the past five years, placing an additional 1,100 students on the campuses.
The 450,000-square-foot facility will feature a community lounge, shared gathering spaces, central green space, rooftop terrace, fitness center and dedicated study areas. Construction is expected to begin in summer 2026, with delivery in fall 2028.
Rent would likely run $1,200 per bed per month.
