In the quest to create the best-sounding SUV in the world, starting with a Ferrari Purosangue is a pretty good first move. After all, its 6.5-liter V12 (codename F140 IA) is largely the same engine as the one in the front-engined 12Cilindri supercar or the Icona-series Monza SP1/SP2 and Daytona SP3 – none of which are unpleasant to listen to. But as sonorous as the Purosangue already is, there’s always room for improvement. Running the Ferrari, equipped with a relatively simple cat-back Tubi Style exhaust, on a dyno up to its redline shows just how exotic an SUV can sound.
