Having arrived in 2002 for the 2003 model year, the Honda Pilot debuted as Honda’s take on the midsize SUV market, powered by a V6 engine. And its arrival was well-timed, too, because this was just as the SUV boom began taking shape. Not just in the US, but globally, too. And the Pilot played into this demand quite nicely with its unibody architecture and eight-passenger capability. Over the last two decades, the Pilot has grown in size and price, and it’s also become a lot more sophisticated, evolving from a utilitarian hauler into an upscale, tech-heavy flagship. And it’s standing firm against rivals such as the Toyota Grand Highlander and Ford Explorer.
