
Global biopharmaceutical giant UCB, Inc. is planning a $2 billion investment in Georgia to establish its first U.S. pharmaceutical biologics manufacturing facility. Based in Belgium, UCB’s North American headquarters are located in Smyrna. UCB’s expertise is in neurology and immunology.
UCB’s new 460,000-square-foot manufacturing campus will be located in Rowen, serving as an anchor tenant for this 2,000-acre planned community in metro Atlanta. UCB’s new manufacturing plant marks the first major private investment at Rowen and the largest capital investment in Gwinnett County’s history.Â
The cutting-edge campus will adopt a digital-first approach, leveraging AI, robotics, and automation while prioritizing efficient use of natural resources.
The investment will generate 330 new jobs over the next several years in Gwinnett County. Gwinnett County has committed an estimated $174 million in incentives and infrastructure investments, including property tax abatements, fee waivers and utility improvements.
