
- Ian Slavin has joined Portman as Vice President of Residential Development. In his new role, based in Boca Raton, Slavin will manage all aspects of multifamily development, including site sourcing, acquisitions, entitlements, financing, design and construction. He will also actively seek new investment opportunities to expand Portman’s residential portfolio in Florida and other key growth markets across the state.
- Gilbane Development appointed Mark Lawson as Development Director for Business Development based out of the firm’s Tampa Bay office. Lawson joins Gilbane following an extensive career working within and alongside universities. Lawson’s responsibilities include sourcing new partnerships with higher education institutions while building and maintaining relationships with key university stakeholders and officials.
- Real estate investor Allen Chelminsky sold the 1095 Broken Sound Parkway office building in Boca Raton for $12.7 million. The 60,050-square-foot office building was 82% occupied at the time of sale, trading at a 7.4% cap rate. John DeMarco of The DeMarco Real Estate Group represented both the buyer and seller in the transaction.
- GID Residential Partners’ national residential development platform is entering the Florida market. The initiative will be led by industry veteran Omar Del Rio, who joins the firm as Senior Managing Director. Mr. Del Rio brings more than 30 years of real estate development experience in the Florida market. His background includes leadership roles with Related Companies, Fairfield Residential, Gables Residential, Quaterra, and, most recently, Eastwind Development.
