
Capland Development is proposing to build 535 multifamily units and 177,000 square feet of commercial space on a 32-acre site near the Ascension Seton Hays hospital campus in Kyle.
The Austin Business Journal reports Capland may also include a hotel, retail, restaurants and office space. Named the Crossroad District, the project will also include unique elements, such as a greenway running through its center.
The Kyle City Council is expected to vote on the measure later this year. Kyle, which has a population of 66,000 and is about 20 miles south of Austin.
Capland Development, formerly known as Harris & Straub, worked on Gateway at Hutto, Trinity Ranch in Elgin, Oaks at San Gabriel and Riverview in Georgetown, and Bar W Ranch in Leander. The developers are also working on the 47-acre Parkton Square infill project in Kyle near downtown.
