Shocking Savings
Not too long ago, GM touted its electric trucks as the next big thing, fielding thousands of them into the market, only for them to flop and become slow sellers. It’s not without reason; however, at this point, one may consider that EV trucks just don’t cut the mustard for pickup truck drivers, and range-extended trucks and hybrids are what GM should have pushed out in the first place.
Maybe all of that was just sold at the wrong price. The Chevrolet Silverado EV, GMC Sierra EV, and GMC Hummer EV have been bumped off the prime section due to slow sales. Maybe this time, at up to $56,000 less, these EVs may finally sell – but as clearance sale items.

Flops For Sale
Unfortunately for GM, the market was so-so for the Silverado EV, Sierra EV, and GMCHummer EV. While the Hummer EV did well initially, the demand eventually fell after the first half of that year. Carscoops pointed out that dealers saw demand fall across the range except for the Sierra EV. The Silverado EV’s demand has plummeted 32.5% in the first half of the year, with dealers moving only 3,672 units, averaging 612 per month.
Meanwhile, the Sierra EV was the only “success” among the three cars this year, with sales up 9.8% to 3,044 units; however, GMC’s camp isn’t too happy because the rest of the EV lineup isn’t doing so well. Demand for the GMC Hummer EV truck and SUV fell 54.9% in the first half of this year, to just 3,601 vehicles.

Up to $56,000 off on GMCs
To check for more prices, I searched Cars.com. The first listing I clicked was for a New 2024 GMC Hummer EV SUV 3X. The kicker? The total price, all-in, is now down from $119,280 to $89,000. That’s a $30,280 discount, and that’s just the start.
Going back to the GMC Hummer EV, I thought, “How bad could it be?” So I went back to the results page and found this: a new 2024 GMC Hummer EV SUV 3X going for just a little under $86,000. Based on the model and its trim, the original listed price was $142,540, but now this car is down to $85,995, which is a net discount of $56,545. Maybe it’s one of the units that went through a broken windshield, but I digress.
Looking at a Sierra EV, Car Scoops unearthed a deal that would save you about $10,000 on a new 2026 GMC Sierra EV. Granted, it’s a new model, so the discount isn’t as substantial, but a current-year model is already discounted by that much.

In the Chevy Camp
Discounts aren’t as grand in the Chevy space. For starters, the Silverado EV in its Work Truck trim goes for about $75,000 to $80,000 depending on what options were ticked. The best deal I was able to find was a 2024 Chevrolet Silverado EV Work Truck for just $66,258, a $10,263 discount.
Otherwise, you’re looking at about $80,000 for a new 2024 Silverado EV Work Truck, but I’m sure some dealers are willing to let go of the stock for less, perhaps if you ask nicely.
If you’re not in the market for the Work Truck trim of the Silverado, there are some deals out there for 2026-year-model Chevys on Cars.com that go for as low as $63,000, which are down by about $1,000 to $2,000 from the suggested retail price. If 2025 is more your year, There’s a New 2025 Chevrolet Silverado EV LT that goes for $10,346 less than the SRP, coming in at $70,476.
