Emory Healthcare is expanding its footprint at Northlake Mall. Since 2019, Emory Healthcare has leased approximately 274,000 square feet at the mall. The new lease will more than double that occupancy. Other than Emory Healthcare, the mall, which opened in 1971, is mostly vacant.
The increased presence follows an ownership change for the property. A non-profit, The Centurian Foundation, paid $95 million for the Northlake Mall. Due to its non-profit status, up to $225 million in bonds could be issued to finance the costs of acquisition, demolition, construction, expansion, renovation, repair, build-out and/or equipping of existing facilities at the mall site.
Emory Healthcare currently houses a variety of administrative and clinical operations at Northlake Mall. In recent years, the site has also grown to include a primary care center, which opened in 2025, and a child care center operated in partnership with Primrose School, which opened in 2024.
