X Capital has started work on a mixed-use development in Melissa, just outside McKinney. The Dallas Business Journal reports the company is bringing new retail and office space to the fast-growing city. And apartments may be down the road.
Infrastructure work has begun on the first phase of Melissa Park Village, a 22-acre development at the northeast corner of State Highway 121 and Melissa Road.
The first phase will include 36,000 square feet of retail space across two buildings, along with a two-story, 23,000-square-foot building designed for office space and ground-floor retail. The first buildings are expected to be completed in 2027.
Weitzman’s Emilie Paulson, Maggie Hansen and Addison Gragson are leasing the retail and office space. Scott Smith and Corbin Tanenbaum are marketing land within the development for future apartments.
The city ranked as the nation’s fourth-fastest-growing city after its population increased nearly 15% to more than 29,000 residents.
