Escalade IQ gets a taste of Rolls-Royce exclusivity
When Cadillac launched the Celestiq, it borrowed from the Rolls-Royce playbook with an ultra-luxury EV that could be extensively customized to satisfy the tastes of every client. The American automaker is now expanding this customization program to the Escalade IQ, its flagship electric SUV. The new Curated by Cadillac Escalade IQ program allows customers to create a truly unique version of the SUV. We now have our first look at such an Escalade IQ, ahead of one of these special models being displayed at The Quail motorsports gathering later this week, which forms part of Monterey Car Week.
An Escalade IQ For The Connoisseur

The well-heeled customer who pores over the smallest details of car design will appreciate the Curated by Cadillac Escalade IQ program. There are over 160 exterior colors and finishes to choose from, including solids, metallics, tri-coats, frosts, and mattes. Inside, an expanded palette includes up to 44 colors. Each vehicle is hand-painted, hand-built by artisans, and given a unique VIN and serialized builder’s badge. A personal concierge support service will guide clients through the customization process.
“Curated by Cadillac Escalade IQ gives clients the chance to create a vehicle that reflects their individual taste by working alongside expert Cadillac designers,” said Kristian Aquilina, vice president, Global Cadillac. “We’re extending the hand-built Celestiq experience to deliver true customization capabilities for a select number of Escalade IQ clients.”
These bespoke Escalade IQs share the range and performance specs of lesser models. That means up to 750 horsepower and 785 lb-ft of torque from the electric motors, enough for a 0-60 mph time of 4.7 seconds. At up to 465 miles on a full charge, it’s one of the longest-range electric SUVs on sale.

Exclusivity Comes At A Cost

Even in base form, the Cadillac Escalade IQ is a pricey proposition. It starts at $127,405 before options and will exceed $150,000 if you go for the top Escalade IQL trim; the IQL is the even longer version of the standard IQ.
Buyers interested in the Curated by Cadillac package for the Escalade IQ will need to cough up an additional $54,995, over and above the standard price of the vehicle. That means you can now spend over $200,000 on one of these electric SUVs. As expensive as that is, it’s still half of the price of a Celestiq, the only other Cadillac that can be comparably customized.
All Curated by Cadillac Escalade IQ models will be hand-built at the brand’s Artisan Center in Warren, Michigan, starting with the 2027 model year. Deliveries will only begin in the second half of 2027, with a longer production time expected for these models than standard Escalade IQs.

High-End Customization Grows In Popularity

Low-volume, bespoke luxury models are increasingly being made available by luxury brands below Rolls-Royce and Bentley. Once reserved for these prestigious British carmakers, lesser luxury brands are allowing customers to create the car of their dreams—for a price.
Cadillac aside, Range Rover said earlier this month that its bespoke SUVs effectively have no price limit. Even Genesis is planning one-off-builds for the upcoming GV90. These custom finishes and specifications can increase the price of the standard vehicle by 50% or more as collectors and discerning clients look for vehicles that deliver a more personal expression of luxury.
