Following its debut in Japan, Nissan has rolled out the 2027 Kicks Rock Creek in America, giving it a shot at the popular Subaru Crosstrek. It’s based on the SV trim and features a more rugged appearance.
Starting outside, the crossover has been equipped with a unique grille featuring orange accents and a mountain badge. They’re joined by gloss black paint on the bumpers and mirrors.

Designers also gave the model special 17-inch wheels and amber daytime running lights. Up top, there’s a tubular roof rack that can hold up to 165 lbs (75 kg) of gear.
The upgrades continue inside with black TailorFit seats featuring orange contrast stitching as well as Rock Creek embroidery on the backrests. They’re accompanied by Rock Creek-branded floor mats as well as additional equipment including a heated steering wheel, heated front seats, and rear air vents. The model also gains ambient lighting, heated exterior mirrors, rear automatic braking, and an around view monitor.
Power comes from a familiar 2.0-liter four-cylinder that develops 141 hp (105 kW / 143 PS) and 140 lb-ft (190 Nm) of torque. It’s connected to an Xtronic continuously variable transmission and a standard all-wheel drive system.
Since the Rock Creek sub-brand is focused on light off-roading, it does have a touch more capability. However, it’s best to keep your expectations in check as the only additions are Hill Descent Control and an off-road driving mode. The latter promises improved performance on “grass, trails and similar terrain.”
The 2027 Nissan Kicks arrives at dealerships later this summer and pricing starts at $22,790 before a $1,545 destination fee. That’s an increase of $60, which isn’t bad considering even the base model comes equipped with LED lighting units, a 12.3-inch infotainment system, and a host of driver assistance systems.
