Manhattan’s leasing frenzy continues, with global investment firm General Atlantic inking a long-term lease for more than 150,000 square feet at Related Cos.’ under-construction Midtown tower 625 Madison Ave. General Atlantic will occupy five floors as the anchor tenant upon the property’s opening, which is slated for 2029. The space will serve as the company’s global headquarters, supporting General Atlantic’s New York team of more than 330 professionals.
Located between 58th and 59th Streets along Madison Ave., the 53-story tower designed by Foster + Partners will feature Central Park views, column-free floor plates and corners, and an all-electric and LEED Platinum design. A restaurant and luxury retail are planned for the tower’s base. Helmed by CEO Jeff Blau, Related has a portfolio of $100 billion assets owned or under development, including the Hudson Yards neighborhood on Manhattan’s West Side. The developer purchased the 625 Madison Ave. site in 2024 and demolished the existing 1956-vintage building, which had previously served as the headquarters for Nabisco and Related itself.
