American Staple
Few nameplates from American car manufacturers are still around and selling well; these cars seem to buck trends and have become icons. One such car is the Chevrolet Suburban, the very essence of a true American SUV experience.
Its appeal is so strong that the Suburban comes in multiple variants and serves different needs, from the public sector to private owners and individuals. 2027 brings a new model year, and with it comes a new set of options and features that we had to figure out using the Chevrolet configurator.

First things first, the Suburban has six variants, ranging from 2WD to 4WD. Prices start at a solid $66,995 (LS 2WD) and go up to $88,495 (High Country 4WD). As always, our goal is to see how expensive the Suburban can be, so we chose the High Country 4WD. The first customizable option is the paint, which can cost as much as $995 for Polar White Tricoat. Even more shocking are the rim prices, which start at $425 and can reach $4,460.
Interestingly, the interior isn’t very customizable: there are only two color choices, with no extra cost for either, and the front bucket seats come standard. Other options include a $600 charge for all-weather floor mats, $615 for the Get Active Package, and $775 for the Dark Essential Package. Additional options are also priced high: an exterior illumination package costs $1,920, the sun and tow kit comes in at $2,040, and the performance package hits $4,545. The most expensive option package, called the High Country Deluxe, costs a whopping $7,640 and includes adaptive air suspension, the Max Trailering Package (which includes the Advanced Trailering Package), an integrated trailer brake controller, an extra-capacity cooling system, a 2-speed active transfer case, and Hill Descent Control.

In the end, with all the options available, the Suburban costs $121,353, including destination charges. That’s $32,858 on top of the starting price of the High Country 4WD; what’s interesting is how simplified the configurator is. Instead of making most of the options individual, the Suburban options are offered in packages to streamline the process.
