Volkswagen, despite being early to the affordable, long-range EV game, made quite a few mistakes with its first generation of vehicles. We experienced these mistakes in the US with the ID.4. It might have driven decently, but it felt and looked cheap, had infuriating controls, and it was quickly outclassed by competition. VW made attempts to improve it with better infotainment and more power, but it was never enough to really bring it up to par.
