It’s hard to say, but BMW M has changed. Performance used to be locked behind the extra price you paid for that special motorsport badge on your 3 Series, but with modern engine tech and a general thirst from consumers to keep adding power, the gap between the standard cars and the M derivatives has gotten much smaller.
