The recent Formula 1 Miami Grand Prix featured one of the most memorable drivers’ parades we’ve seen – or indeed will ever see – when all 20 drivers competed in a one-lap ‘race’ around the Floridian circuit in near-1:1-scale single-seaters made from LEGO. Each of the 10 cars tipped the scales at just over 3,300 pounds (almost double the minimum weight of the actual F1 cars), was capable of speeds of up to 12 MPH, and was made from nearly 400,000 bricks by 26 designers across a collective 22,000-plus hours. The ‘race’ was as close as you’d expect too, with McLaren and Ferrari almost making contact at the first corner, and Pierre Gasly taking a second, incredibly obscure, F1 win.
