It’s not necessarily news when Starbucks builds a new store. There are 17,000 of them. In some towns, one is on all four corners of a busy intersection. However, when it comes to this Starbucks, history was made recently in Brownsville, when the nation’s first 3D-printed Starbucks officially opened at 2941 Boca Chica Boulevard.
The new location features drive-thru and pickup services, offering customers a modern and convenient coffee experience.
A Starbucks representative said that the 1,400-square-foot structure, built with cutting-edge 3D concrete printing technology, is the first of its kind for the global coffee chain. The process is not necessarily cheaper, but it is faster to build and less labor-intensive.
“There’s no other Starbucks or building like this—it’s definitely one of a kind,” said store manager Ricky Arreola. “There are a lot of eyes looking at us.”
This location is now the fourth Starbucks in Brownsville.
