Hybrid trucks are a bit of an anomaly. The pickup truck segment remains one of the most popular in the USA, and with a history of big, powerful gas-guzzling motors powering these utes, the onslaught of electrification means that some die-hard fans may struggle to make the switch. Hybrid trucks like the Ford Maverick exist to pave the way for EV variants. Despite the fact that hybridization has loads of benefits for economy and even performance, most consumers have more faith in a truck with a naturally aspirated V6 or V8 under the hood, like those found in old Toyota trucks.
