It’s pretty obvious that Caterham is a car company that cares about its history and keeps its cars as close to the blueprint set by the Lotus Seven as it can. With that in mind, it makes more sense why the company would be making a big deal about one of its engine options going away: the 1.6-liter Ford Sigma engine. According to the company, Caterham has been using naturally aspirated 1.6-liter Ford four-cylinder engines of one form or another since 1973, with the current version of the Sigma having launched in 2007. The end of the line has finally arrived for the engine, and Caterham is saying sayonara in style with the Seven 310 Encore.
