The history of Volvo and Polestar is so complicated you may not have known about the third partner in that family. Polestar used to be a psuedo in-house performance division of Volvo before being spun off in 2017. When that happened, the tuning arm of the company also spun off into its own development called Cyan Racing, which now builds restomods, custom vehicles, and race cars independently of Volvo and Geely.
