
We all remember the Jeep Cherokee XJ. It was a long-standing model, produced for over 17 years. Initially, the American Motors Corporation, or AMC, built this generation of Cherokee. In 1987, Chrysler bought the automaker and took control of the Jeep brand. The Cherokee XJ was so unbelievably reliable, in part because of the dependable 4.0-liter AMC inline-six engine.
