In fresh testimony in front of the US Congress, a top trade group representing multiple automakers like Volkswagen, Hyundai, Toyota, and others has called out and criticized the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. The agency, which creates and enforces new safety regulations as well as investigates claims of safety defects on new vehicles, is under fire for impeding technological progress and being too slow to react to modern market changes.
