DXD Capital, a private equity firm focused on self-storage, is building a self-storage project in Georgetown. The facility will be operated by self-storage real estate investment trust Extra Space Storage.
The 3-acre parcel at 2030 Airport Road will offer 79,013 net rentable square feet in 890 climate-controlled units. Capco General Contracting is building it, and construction began in April.
This facility is in a fast-growing community where the population could surpass 110,000 people by 2030 according to the Georgetown City Government. The US Census Bureau reported Georgetown as the highest-growth city in the US with an existing population of over 50,000 people for three consecutive years.
DXD is building the self-storage projects in partnership with Mar-Gulf Management Inc. and MDI Capital LLC, Kuwait Financial Centre’s international real estate subsidiaries.
