Land Rover introduced the hardcore Defender OCTA last year and now they’re expanding the lineup with a new blackout edition. Known as the OCTA Black, the model has up to 30 exterior components that are satin or gloss black.
Starting outside, the model has a Narvik Black exterior as it’s the “truest black in the Defender paint palette.” While the standard model has a gloss finish, customers can equip the SUV with an optional matte protective film.

That’s just the tip of a very dark iceberg as the Defender has satin black powder coated skid plates, satin black recovery hooks, and a gloss black four-tailpipe exhaust system. Designers also gave the model a black grille and dark silver “Defender” badging.
Customers can choose between 20- or 22-inch wheels, which have a gloss black finish. Both have black center caps and are backed up by a braking system with gloss black calipers.
The dark theme continues inside as virtually everything is pitch-black. This includes a satin black powder coated cross bar beam, black switchgear, and a black steering wheel. However, customers can get an optional “chopped carbon fiber” finish.
The black appearance extends to the ebony semi-aniline leather seats, which have Kvadrat accents. The company said the latter gives a “soft and tactile finish to the performance seats.” Speaking of which, they have unique perforations and stitched accents on the backrests.
Like the standard model, the OCTA Black has a twin-turbo 4.4-liter V8 engine developing 626 hp (467 kW / 635 PS) and 553 lb-ft (749 Nm) of torque. It enables the model to accelerate from 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) in 3.8 seconds, before hitting a top speed of up to 155 mph (250 km/h).
The OCTA Black also benefits from the recent enhancements given to the 2026 Defender. This includes updated lighting units, a larger 13.1-inch infotainment system, and new colors and finishes.
