Greg Lemond, the first American cyclist to win the Tour de France bike race, will receive the Congressional Gold Medal at the Capitol on Wednesday morning.
Lemond, now 64, finished first in 1986, 1989 and 1990.
Lemond was awarded the Congressional Gold Medal — one of the highest civilian awards — in 2020, but the COVID-19 pandemic delayed the ceremony.
He is scheduled to receive the award at 11 a.m. EDT.
