The Low Income Housing Institute (LIHI) recently hosted a grand re-opening for the Rosie’s Village shelter at 12201 Aurora Ave. N. in North Seattle.
Previously situated in the University District on Sound Transit property, the original site is being redeveloped by LIHI into affordable housing. The new village features 37 tiny houses and is conveniently located near the RapidRide E Line, Bitter Lake Community Center, and UW Medical Center.
Rosie’s Village is operated by LIHI, with faith sponsorship from Truevine of Holiness Missionary Baptist Church. The village serves 40–50 individuals with 24/7 enhanced shelter and comprehensive support services. Construction support came from Sound Foundations NW, LOVE-TO, 21 Million, and Portable Storage Northwest. The site includes communal amenities such as a kitchen, bathrooms, laundry, offices, picnic area, and more.
