The 2025 Subaru Impreza RS is an all-around good car, but with a couple of significant issues, the first being it’s name. The letters R and S, or a combination of the two, have long been an indication that the car they’re affixed to is a high-performance model. It signifies that the car you’re about to drive is the most exciting version you can get. That’s not totally untrue here, since the RS is the most powerful car with an Impreza badge in the US. But it’s not entirely true either. While it may use a stiffer suspension than the base Impreza, and is gussied up with cool flat-engine “RS” badges and a red-trimmed interior, it’s not the WRX Lite that many wanted. In our books, it’s something else: an Impreza Plus.
