This week mycoprotein pioneer Quorn secured an £18 million ($24 million) cash injection from its Filipino parent company, Provectus Algae netted new funds to scale its seaweed growing platform for livestock methane reduction, and Mara Renewables raised new capital to expand algae-based omega-3 production.
Elsewhere, chocolate behemoth Barry Callebaut said it is exploring the potential of cocoa made via plant cell culture, Coca-Cola unveiled plans to launch a cola made with US cane sugar, and Pepsi launched a prebiotic cola.
Finally, Beyond Meat is rolling out its new mycelium-based steak filet to more restaurants.
