Diesel cars have somewhat fallen from grace in recent years, a trend that kicked off following the infamous Dieselgate scandal that enveloped Volkswagen a decade ago. While more fuel efficient than petrol-run equivalents, diesel-powered cars tend to pump out significantly more CO2, which contaminates the air around us and proves more problematic for human health. It tends to be preserved for commercial vehicles like trucks and vans these days, as these profit the most from the torque and efficiency benefits of the fuel.
