Hoping to capitalize on the buzz created by the $245 million sale of an East Bank scrapyard, another property owner has placed a Nashville riverfront property for sale. Equitable is marketing the 30-acre parcel at 700 Visco Dr., along the downtown side of the Cumberland River, east of SoBro and Rolling Mill Hill.
The Nashville Business Journal reports the site is owned by local trucking company TCW. The entity paid $350,000 for it in 1992. Pete Greenfield and Jon Speers of Equitable Property Co. are handling marketing of the site. No listing price has been publicized.
Last week, a large group of investors led by David Byerly paid $245 million for a 47-acre scrapyard owned by billionaire Carl Icahn.
Many of the riverfront industrial sites are slowly being acquired. Oracle plans a tech campus on a recently purchased 70 acres. The Fallon Co. will soon break ground on its master East Bank development and work on the new Tennessee Titans stadium progresses.
