For decades, the BMW 3 Series was the king of both compact sedans and coupes, being available in both simultaneously. That changed in 2013 when BMW introduced the BMW 4 Series – essentially the same as the 3 Series sedan but with fewer doors and more ‘grand tourer’ styling.
