If you were forced to pick the decade in which the most blatant examples of automotive rebadging took place, it would have to be the 1990s. Back then, automakers from around the world were busying themselves with trying to break into new, fresh markets, and trying to figure out which brand worked best in those markets. In fact, the record for the most rebadged model to have ever existed belongs to the ’90s Isuzu Trooper, with roughly 10 different iterations of the model being sold throughout the world under different names.
