Real estate investor and developer Connolly closed on an 11-acre greenfield development site along Towne Lake Parkway in Woodstock to build a retail center anchored by a Publix grocery store. Woodstock is 10 miles north of Marietta.
The Atlanta Business Chronicle reports Connolly purchased several parcels for a total of at least $5.93 million in September. The firm also paid about $4 million in 2021 for an existing neighboring 28,000-square-foot strip center. Renovations are planned there, too. The total value of the Woodstock project is roughly $65 million.
The new construction portion of the project — dubbed Woodstock Mill District — will include a 47,000-square-foot Publix and 43,000 square feet of additional retail space that has not yet been leased. Development has already commenced, and the retail spaces will be delivered in phases throughout the second half of 2026.
Benning Construction Co. is the general contractor of the Woodstock project, and Place Maker Design is the architect. Lavista Associates Inc. serves as Connolly’s leasing broker.
