In 2026, the fastest cars on the road have become very, very fast. Today, even a Tesla Model 3 Performance can outrun many 90s supercars in a light-to-light race, though just a handful of cars on the road can break into sub-10-second territory when it comes to the quarter-mile drag. That 10-second measurement is serious stuff: many of the world’s hottest rides struggle to break into this territory, and the ones that do use a combination of today’s most powerful gas, hybrid, and all-electric powertrains to do it.
