ATCO Properties & Management closed on a $66 million refinancing for Kinship, the first multifamily buildings to rise at Camp North End, a 76-acre adaptive reuse development located just north of Uptown Charlotte.Â
ATCO secured a three-year bridge loan from Benefit Street Partners. Mark Gallinaro of WelcomeLend sourced and secured the financing. Partners within the Kinship project include opportunity zone funds sponsored by Tishman, Altes Capital, and Blueprint Local.
The Kinship development, located in the southwest portion of Camp North End’s campus at 110 and 115 Razades Way, encompasses 301 apartments across two newly completed buildings. Move-ins began in late 2024 at both apartment buildings, which are currently approximately 35% leased.
Besides a wide range of interior and exterior amenities, the development includes seven live-work units at the base of Kinship West, which provide residents with a unique opportunity to operate ground-floor retail storefronts.
To form Camp North End, ATCO repurposed 750,000 square feet of existing industrial buildings into Class A office and multifamily spaces and a retail mix.
