
If you browse any automaker’s NHTSA files, you’ll find that rearview camera recalls are some of the more common fixes. Whether it’s an issue with the camera itself or the infotainment screen to which it’s connected or the software, pretty much every driver on the planet is going to run into one of these bugs sooner or later, so there’s nothing immediately attention-grabbing about a rearview camera recall, even one that affects thousands of vehicles. But, when we’re seeing millions of recalled units across several brands, including Ford, Volvo, Nissan, Kia, Chrysler, and Mitsubishi, all within the span of a couple of months, well, we have to wonder what’s going on.
