Boise, Idaho-based Prosperity Organic Foods, Inc., the private company behind the Melt Organic dairy-free butter brand, has acquired Miyoko’s Creamery.
CEO Scott Fischer said: “We are excited to have the opportunity to grow the Miyoko’s brand as it aligns perfectly with our mission to provide consumers with delicious, sustainable, and functional plant-based food options that embody innovation and high-quality craft.”
Following the closing of the transaction, Prosperity Organic Foods will “continue to honor the brand roots and community of Miyoko’s Creamery, as well as its commitment to the highest standards of quality, taste, and sustainability,” said the firm.
Miyoko Schinner, who founded Miyoko’s in 2014 and launched an unsuccessful bid to buy it last week, told AgFunderNews: “I am not associated in any way, and while they now own the trademark ‘Miyoko’s,’ they cannot allude to my involvement nor endorsement not use my name or image in any way.”
